MISSION EMPHASIS FOR JANUARY: Sierra Service Project
The high school mission team has been attending the
Sierra Service Project for the last 7 years.
This year the Missions Committee has elected to designated a specific food each month to be provided to the Salvation Army. We are starting off the year with macaroni and cheese, of course other items are welcome as well. Please place your items in the blue bucket in the Narthex and they will be taken to the Salvation Army.
Human Relations SUNDAY
Your gift to Human Relations Day provides avenues to restored relationship through ministries like Redemption Kids, a Youth Offender Rehabilitation Program; Community Developers, self-improvement programs; and United Methodist Voluntary Services, community advocacy that challenges oppression and injustice. Please give generously to this worthwhile program.
PRAYER QUILT FOR
The Nurture committee has decided that Mary Netzer should be presented with a prayer quilt as a reminder of all those who are thinking about her and praying for successful surgery and long term relief from back pain. Please take a moment either before or after the service today, to tie your personal prayer knot on the quilt in the Narthex. When all the prayer knots have been tied, it will be presented to Mary.
Youth Group Events
This afternoon, the middle school youth group has voted
to continue to meet despite the holiday weekend - so we will see all
middle schoolers from 2:30pm to 4:00pm in Room 2. Also, next Saturday the 22nd
there will be a combined overnight lock-in in the social hall beginning at
7:30pm and ending at 7:30am Sunday morning. Non-youth group friends are
invited. Permission slips required upon arrival.
March of Dimes Crop-o-Thon
Mark your calendars you fellow scrapbookers, quilters,
and crafters for an all-night crop-o-thon on Friday, February 11 from 4pm to
12midnight in the social hall! $20 saves your seat at the event. Proceeds
benefit the Victorville March of Dimes. Dinner will be provided along with
hourly door prizes and snacks throughout the night! Contact Olivia Zade to

The third candle on the altar, the one with the red, white and blue ribbons, is lighted each Sunday in honor of and in prayerful support for our men and women serving in the United States Armed Forces. They are truly our heroes. Want to do more to show your support?
