MISSION EMPHASIS FOR JANUARY: Sierra Service Project
The high school mission team has been attending the Sierra Service Project for the last 7 years. SSP takes teenagers to different Native American Reservations throughout California, Idaho, Nevada, and Arizona for week-long mission trips repairing homes during the summer. This year our team will be attending the "Urban" Site in South Los Angeles, where they will be repairing homes and also learning about the homeless situation that South LA faces. Your contribution to this mission helps pay for the three van rental fees. There are 20 spots available for high school youth to fill, please speak to Amy Ochoa to sign up your teenager for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Food emphasis fOR the Month
This year the Missions Committee has elected to designated a specific food each month to be provided to the Salvation Army. We are starting off the year with macaroni and cheese, of course other items are welcome as well. Please place your items in the blue bucket in the Narthex and they will be taken to the Salvation Army.
PRAYER QUILT FOR CAROL CORLETT
The Nurture Committee has decided that Carol Corlett should have a prayer quilt as a reminder of all those who are thinking and praying for her successful healing from a broken femur. Please take a moment, either before or after the service today, to tie your personal prayer knot on the quilt in the Narthex. When all the prayer knots have been tied, it will be presented to Carol.
