MISSION EMPHASES FOR FEBRUARY:LIVING BREAD MINISTRY AND RANCHO INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES
Living Bread Ministry is a program started and supported by local churches and managed
by the Salvation Army. The program provides food to the needy in crisis situations in
Ridgecrest and the surrounding area. Please give generously and help our community feed the hungry.
PROJECT RIM—RANCHO INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES
Project RIM provides food relief to the people of Zimbabwe. For $5.00 you can feed a family of 4 for a month. 100% of your donation will go towards purchasing food.
Food fOR the Month
For the month of February we are asking for Beef Stew. Of course other items are welcome as well. Some of the items that are always needed for the food pantry are: peanut butter, jelly, crackers, spaghetti sauce, spaghetti noodles, macaroni & cheese, canned vegetables, refried beans, canned fruit, cereal, chili, soup, top ramen, and tuna. Please place your items in the blue bucket in the Narthex and they will be taken to the Salvation Army.
Shrove Tuesday
On Tuesday, March 8, we will be continuing the tradition of sharing this meal with
the congregation of St. Michael’s Anglican Church. We will be serving pancakes with
the usual accompaniments from 5:00 to 6:30 pm in our Social Hall. The cost is $3.00 to cover the food and supplies. It is a “drop-in” type of meal so come when it is convenient. Children are very welcome so please bring the entire family. This is a wonderful opportunity to share some time with our friends and neighbors from another church.
We do hope you will join us as we prepare ourselves for the Lenten season.
FLOWER CALENDAR
If you would like to place flowers on the altar for a special occasion, birthday, anniversary,
in memory of a loved one or for any other special occasion, please sign up on the chart by the church office. It will then be your responsibility to purchase the arrangement and bring it to the church on your designated Sunday. For more information you may call the church office--375-7434.
ASH WEDNESDAY TAIZÉ SERVICE
Again this year, we begin the season of Lent on Ash Wednesday, March 9 at 7:00 pm. There will be a special service including the meditational music of the Taizé Community in France, the ministry of our Choir, and the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
