MOTHER’S DAY

GATHERING MUSIC

CHORAL INTROIT

CALL TO WORSHIP               Mary Fairchild                               Scott Millett

One   God could not be in every place
Many WITH LOVING HANDS TO HELP ERASE

One   The teardrops from each baby's face,
Many AND SO HE THOUGHT OF MOTHER.

One   God could not watch us night and day
Many AND KNEEL BESIDE OUR CRIB TO PRAY,

One   Or kiss our little aches away;
Many AND SO HE SENT US MOTHER.

One   And when our childhood days began,
Many GOD SIMPLY WOULD NOT TAKE COMMAND.

One   That's why He placed our tiny hand
Many SECURELY INTO MOTHER'S.

One   God could not send us here alone
Many AND LEAVE US TO A FATE UNKNOWN;

One   Without providing for His own—
Many THE OUTSTRETCHED ARMS OF MOTHER. AMEN.

THE LORD'S PRAYER                                                                     Everyone

          Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.

          Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

          Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,

          As we forgive those who trespass against us.

          And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil;

          For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever,        Amen.
