CHORAL INTROIT

CALL TO WORSHIP              Dr. Albert Schwietzer                   Diane Leveille

One   He comes to us as one unknown,

Many WITHOUT A NAME,

One   As of old, by the lakeside.

Many HE CAME TO THOSE WHO KNEW HIM NOT.

One   He speaks to us the same word: “Follow thou me!”

Many AND SETS US TO THE TASKS WHICH HE HAS TO FULFILL

          FOR OUR TIME.

One   He commands. And to those who obey Him,

Many WHETHER THEY BE WISE OR SIMPLE,

One   He will reveal Himself in the toils, the conflicts,

Many THE SUFFERINGS WHICH THEY SHALL PASS THROUGH

          IN HIS FELLOWSHIP,

One   And, as an ineffable mystery,

Many THEY SHALL LEARN IN THEIR OWN EXPERIENCE WHO HE IS.

          AMEN.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
