Motion
In so far as the church planning session of 2006 set a level one goal to increase and facilitate opportunities to serve and minister to the church, community and the world and that one of our objectives was to fund and build a RUMC Habitat for Humanity Home involving all age groups, the Missions Committee therefore offers the following motion:
“That the Administrative Board endorse the Missions committee concept of The United Methodist Church of Ridgecrest financing and assisting in building a Habitat for Humanity home in the IWV. This would involve conducting a major fundraising campaign outside the adopted budget and would require the congregations approval through a vote to be taken in an Adjourned Session of the Church Charge Conference.”
The objective of this effort is to raise $75,000 over a three year time period and to involve at least a six-member construction team working one to two weekends each month for a year as well as providing meals for workers and tasks for our youth.
